These two poems are about the examples of our loved ones gone before us and the importance of family unity. It’s about the eternal blessings of temple sealing ordinances. It was written in two parts, the first for my grandfather who passed away in November of 1996 for his funeral, then part two for his wife, my grandmother at her passing about ten years later in January 2007. (My mother’s parents)
One Deserved
One lived, one learned
One gave, and one earned
To return with him
Who loved her so
The father of her children
From so long ago
One grew, one cared
One knew, and one shared
The burden of a life
Ten years so alone
But has now returned
To her heavenly home
One prayed, one served
One obeyed, and one deserved
The love of her family
For generations to come
A family united
In the eternal kingdom
One lived, one learned
One gave, and one earned
The gift to move on
To her mansion above
No longer waiting
To return to her love
