In Essence What I Want To Say

In essence what I want to say
Is more than words in a talk can portray
It's the true meaning of the word fatherhood
It's the knowledge and belief you lived as you should

In essence what I want to say
Is more than life or love can display
It's the reason I'm here on this Earth
He's the reason I've been happy ever since birth

In essence what I want to say
Is from the beginning to forever and even today
It's what has made me who I am
He's the one who's there to tell me I can

In essence what I want to say
Is thank you for loving and living your way
It was your love and example when I was a kid
That makes me want to live as you did

In essence what I want to say
Is nothing more than Happy Father's Day
In essence what I want to say
Is everything I should have yesterday
