A Man Of Few Words

A Man Of Few Words

There are people who serve and don't ask for applause

They are quiet and humble serving their country abroad

They don't ask for attention or money or cheer

There are some folks who serve unnoticed year after year

They make friends over the years and seldom forget

To visit the ones they love, honor and respect

They go about their way never looking for glory

Giving their all while leaving behind a great story

This is about a man who lived such a life

My Grandpa Bruce and his beloved wife

He was one who enjoyed listening with little to say

Yet his actions and love were like giants on display

There are people who live through difficult times

But somehow they manage to save up their dimes

They don’t ever complain or ask for more

Instead they serve their neighbors who live next door

Bruce Thurston was a man of few words

But what he did in his life will create eternal rewards
